LaserCare Cosmetic Centers was founded by Mark A. Latina,
M.D. and Loretta Andreottola, R.N., R.E.
Mark A. Latina, M.D. is the Medical Director of LaserCare Cosmetic Centers. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the New England Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine. He is a member of the Staff at the New England Medical Center and holds appointments at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Latina is an internationally renowned laser expert. He is a practicing ophthalmologist and an active researcher with a focus on the laser applications and development. Over the past 10 years Dr. Latina has pioneered several new laser procedures for the treatment of glaucoma and holds numerous patents, which include the development of “Dye-Enhanced Gonioscopic Laser Sclerostomy” and “Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty.” Currently, Dr. Latina serves as a consultant for Coherent Laser, Palo Alto, CA. where he is involved in overseeing the FDA clinical trials for the selective laser trabeculoplasty procedure that he developed.
Dr. Latina
completed his residency in ophthalmology at the
Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School in
1985. He was
awarded a Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship and pursued
subspecialty training in glaucoma, also at the Massachusetts
Eye and Ear Infirmary. He
is currently a member of the staff at the Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary and has been a member of research staff at
the Wellman Laboratory of Photomedicine at the Massachusetts
General Hospital and the Schepen’s Eye Research Institute,
Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Latina graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. He received his doctorate in medicine from University of Connecticut Medical School. He has published more than 40 scientific papers and book chapters, and also participated as a guest lecturer or faculty member in over 30 symposium and medical continuing education courses.
Dr. Latina is a founder of LaserCare Cosmetic Centers. As Medical Director, he provides laser training and on-going education for all LaserCare Cosmetic Centers staff.
Loretta Andreottola, R.N., R.E. has been a Registered Nurse for 27 years and a Registered Electrologist for 17 years. She received her education at the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing, Salem State College, and the Roberts Institute of Electrology, all in Massachusetts. Loretta has had extensive training in Laser Hair Removal and has 15 years full time experience with lasers for hair removal. She is a member of ASLMS (American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery).Loretta has extensive medical experience and education in the field of skin and hair. She worked for 8 years as a surgical nurse and in the burn unit at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, MA. She has worked in the field of cosmetic dermatology for 5 years administering Botox® injections as well as Vein Sclerotherapy. Loretta has taken specialized training in wound care and has 3 years experience as a Wound Consultant in nursing homes throughout Massachusetts. In 1982, Loretta founded the Loretta Andreottola Hair Removal Center in Reading, MA, where she and her staff still practice Electrolysis and now specialize in Laser Hair Removal under the medical direction of Mark A. Latina, M.D.
